Anyone coming to Livigno from Europe will have to go over the Gallo Pass (Tunnel Munt la Schera), open all year round (check the times on Click Here), which connects the town with Switzerland and go through Val Monastero from the Pass dal Fuorn. In summer Livigno is connected to Switzerland (via Bernina and St. Moritz) by the Forcola Pass. From Milan you can get to Livigno via Lecco (SS36) and Bormio (SS38), taking the Foscagno Pass. Vehicles are required by law to have snow chains on board during the winter.
Train
From Italy, Tirano, at the end of the line from Milan, is the nearest station. A daily bus service connects Tirano to Livigno via Bormio-Passo Foscagno. From Switzerland you can get to Livigno by taking a train to either Zernez or Pontresina and then continuing your journey by bus.
